摘要： Increasing the use of biomass, including energy crops is one of the main objectives of the EuropeanUnion energy policy both on national and regional levels in different European countries. The overall objective of theENCROP project, cofinanced by the European Commission in the frame of the “Intelligent Energy for Europe,ALTENER Programme”, is therefore to promote the cultivation, production and utilisation of lignocellulosic energycrops at the European level. The chosen crops are reed canary grass (Finland), willow, hemp (Sweden) and poplar(Italy and Spain). Additionally, producing biogas from energy crops is introduced (Germany and Austria). Project’stime life is from October 2007 to August 2010.
