摘要: The life cycle of Haemaphysalis punctata , which were collected from the cattle and sheep in Yining and Huocheng county, Xingjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, was studied in laboratory. The experiments revealed that H. punctatais a three-host tick. Ittakes 107-173 days to complete its life cycle and develops only one generation in a year. The time which elapses between dropping of the gorged female from host and the commencement of oviposition and the time of oviposition are markedly influenced by temperature, being 4-8 and 24-32 days respectively at 28C. The eggs kid by single females is 2125-6244 and the mean is 3335. one engorged female tick can lay as many as 150-229 eggs in a day. The eggs appear oval and the size, is 0.32-0.43 X 0.47-0.57 mm.The period of hatching is 33-38 at 28C. The size of larvae is 0.85-0.97 X 1.31-1.50 mm and the weight is 0.56 mg. The larvae usually remain upon rabbits and cattle for 7-14 days and the weight of engorged larvae is 0.16mg. The nymphs usually remain attached for 6-15 days and the molting time of engorged nymph is 9-19 days. The adult female ticks remains attached on the hosts for 12-17 days. The diapause of H. punctatais obvious, some of the female ticks engorged in June and July will diapause and all the female ticks engorged after Seotember will do. The period of diapause is 95-186 days. Ecdysis delay was also observed on the nymphs engorged after September. Behavior and engorging diapause would happen on the adult ticks when fed on the hosts after October. The longevity of the unfed tick is very marked. The larvae can survive for 130-220 days, nymph for 210-380 days and adults for 240-600 days without taking any blood.
