摘要: The seasonal availability of stover poses a significant challenge for the continuous operation of large-scale biogas projects. Ensiling is a common method used to maintain the biomethane potential of the stover. However, ensiling of excessively wilted maize stover is challenging due to its low water-soluble carbohydrate contents and high lignocellulosic content. To address this issue, we investigated the use of agricultural Jiaosu, an acidic microbial additive derived from waste fruits and vegetables, to boost the ensiling stability and biogas production of excessively wilted maize stover. The addition of agricultural Jiaosu significantly reduced organic matter loss while promoting lignocellulose degradation. Compared with the control, agricultural Jiaosu at 278.3 mL/kg fresh weight enhanced the volatile fatty acid concentration by 297.6 % and biomethane potential by 45.0 %. The composition of microbial community considerably influenced these processes. Optimal treatment increased the total abundance of Bacillus and Paenibacillus from 0.16 % and 0.09 % in the control to 36.42 % and 17.60 %, respectively. We further identified the numerically inconspicuous keystone taxa such as Brevibacillus and Thermoactinomyces. This study provides a novel approach for enhancing the sustainability and efficiency of biogas projects through improved utilization of excessively wilted stover.
